The Deputy Head of Export Markets Development of the Trade Development Organization of Iran announced the increase of Iran’s share in the Iraqi market and said: the value of Iran’s exports to Iraq in 1998 compared to 1397 increased by 0.7% to $ 8.9 billion. According to the Public Relations Department of the Trade Development Organization of Iran, Massoud Kamali Ardakani stated the news: “Last year, the Iraqi market was the second largest exporter of Iran after China with 21% of the country’s exports.” Iran is also the third largest exporter to Iraq with a 28% share of the Iraqi market.
He added: “According to this, the value of Iran’s exports to Iraq in 1998 compared to 1397 increased by 0.7 percent to $ 8.9 billion.” Also, in terms of weight, our country’s exports to Iraq in 1998 compared to 1397 reached 25 million tons, which has experienced a 29% increase.
“Drugs and medical equipment, plastic products, ceramic tiles, steel and cable steel products, home appliances, electrical appliances, pipes and profiles, building materials, water coolers, carpet carpets and flooring, propylene bags,” said the deputy head of export markets development. Industrial machinery, dairy, confectionery, chocolate, automotive spare parts, agricultural equipment and creative products, and knowledge-based products are among the goods with the capacity to increase exports to Iraq.
1399 plans to increase exports to Iraq
Regarding the organization’s plans to strengthen trade diplomacy, Kamali Ardakani said that the third meeting of the Joint Commission of the two countries will follow up on the agreements reached, as well as the efforts of the Ministers of Industry, Mines and Trade and the Director General of the Trade Development Organization of Iran. Iraqi counterparts announced the holding of the fourth meeting of the Joint Commission and the Joint Committee on Trade Cooperation between the two countries and the conclusion of new agreements in accordance with the new conditions and developments in order to expand exports to Iraq in 1399.
He said that pursuing the goal of exporting 20 billion dollars in 1400 between the two countries, developing industrial cooperation, holding conferences and tables of goods and countries in Tehran and the provinces and introducing new export opportunities to the private sector, active participation in international exhibitions in Iraq. Holding specialized exhibitions in Iran at the Iran Exhibition Center in Baghdad after the Corona virus subsided, daily monitoring of border terminals and following up on the removal of export barriers from these bases are among the extension programs of the Trade Development Organization to expand exports to Iraq.
Kamali Ardakani added: “Efforts to reduce or provide timely information on the implementation of seasonal bans and restrictions, pursue the creation of commercial infrastructure in border provinces and strengthen the export of these provinces to Iraq, provide marketing advice to exporters and also pursue solving the problems and demands of Iranian companies in Iraq.” , Introducing capacities as well as providing marketing advice and Iraqi laws and regulations, strengthening Iranian business consulting offices in Iraq and validating Iraqi parties by Iranian business advisor in Baghdad and trying to increase communication with the Iraqi private sector in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce Iran and Iraq and Exporters Association Technical Services and other national and provincial organizations as well as production and export of the most important programs for the development of exports to Iraq in 1399 is considered.
